2009 Summer Programming

  • Elementary Programming The kiddos from last summer!
This year's theme is PEOPLE, and each week we'll focus on a different sub-theme (like "People & Their Music") for the activities the kids will be doing. This program is for children going into first through fifth grades, with kiddos divided into four staff-led teams based on age and gender. The program includes breakfast and lunch, educational games and activities, English-as-a-Second-Language instruction, and field trips.
  • Teen Programming
Every year, the summer program for teens centers on an arts-based curriculum designed to both teach new artistic techniques and encourage personal identity exploration and expression. This year's theme is a FASHION SHOW! Made possible by partnerships with the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Crafts, Israel Shabazz and the Real Empire, and other local artists, this year's program will give the teens a chance to learn textile production and design and hip-hop and lyrical composition. Aside from this, other components of the program include faciliated recreation, dinners donated by local restaurants, personal time to complete projects, and field trips around Louisville.
